Knowlton is an expansive community filled with beautiful stories, cultures, and experiences. In honor of that, Knowlton’s 3rd “Knowlton Iftar” returns to celebrate Ramadan!

Ramadan is a special month for Muslims around the world where they fast for 30 days (sometimes for 12 hours!). Their fasts begin at Fajr (sunrise) and end at Magrib (sunset). Iftar is the meal Muslims share to break their fasts.

In collaboration with MSA, ASMA, NAMLA, and NOMAS, we invite you to break your fast with us at Knowlton Hall’s Main Space on March 5th at 6:00 PM.

Food will be provided, all are welcome!

Names are powerful.

The Knowlton School is named after our primary benefactor, Austin E. Knowlton, for significant contributions to higher education not just at Ohio State, but across Ohio.
We refer to ourselves as Knowlton as a point of pride, understanding Knowlton’s legacy and commitment to educating the future practitioners of a just lived environment.

Ohio State’s Board of Trustees fail to recognize the power in a name.

Les Wexner’s connection to Epstein are damning. He has been listed 1322 times in the DOJ’s Epstein Files as of Feb 2026, and the number continues to grow. By continuing to celebrate a man whose wealth and influence are connected to horrific acts of violence, the names we choose to honor only perpetuate them.

We stand in solidarity with the victims, survivors, and Ohio State community to call on the removal of his name from our campus and the return of campaign donations from our local elected officials.

At approximately 11:30AM, a group of Knowlton students from across the 3 sections gathered to demonstrate this call to action under the Oculus. Knowlton Hall stands as a symbol of student advocacy and pride across the Ohio State community. We undoubtedly support the actions of those Knowlton Students and their calls for justice.

Earlier this month, we got Knowlton students together to build an installation for the MLK Branch of the Columbus Metropolitan Library!

🎂 In celebration of MLK’s birthday, we asked the community what the words legacy, justice, and community meant to them.

🛠️🌳After, they would write their thoughts down on a tree branch and build Martin’s “dream tree”, towering over 7’ tall!

🧊❌The nationwide blackout in protest of ICE in our neighborhoods is today. We call on those who are able to skip studio to support our neighbors in downtown at 3PM.

Can't skip studio? There is another simple way to engage:

Explore a night full of student artists and purchase your new favorite sweater, or buy a print from your new favorite artist! From plants to hand-painted paintings, the Night Craft Market allows you to support your fellow student artists!

Do you own a 3D printer? We need your help!

Whistles are an essential tool in ICE demonstrations. They alert neighbors of ICE activity, disrupt business as usual, and provide an unpleasant environment for ICE operations.

All it takes:
🧵 3g of Filament, or
🕐 15 mins of print time, or
💸 $0.09 per whistle.

Since late December, ICE operations have hiked in Columbus, kidnapping dozens of our neighbors. It’s about time they make their way to our campus. Its our job to keep our Knowlton, OSU, and Columbus community safe.

Don’t own a printer? KS has designated a central dropbox in the student lounge (after the All-School Meeting) where you can grab (or donate) your own! Still want to get involved? Donate funds to pay for prints in the MAT/FAB lab.

🌳🌳We’re collaborating with the Martin Luther King Jr. Branch in preparation for their signature Happy Birthday Martin event on Jan 15th. CML wants Knowlton Students to build a “dream tree” that celebrates MLK’s legacy!

Here’s how you can participate:

Jan 7th: Stop by the MLK Branch at 2pm and engage with the community, collect input on our installation, and on MLK’s legacy.

Jan 12th: Visit the shop after Arch/Larch studio and help us cut/pre-assemble our installation pieces.

Jan 14th: Meet at the shop at 5:30 to transport and install our tree.

Can’t make them all? ALL are welcome to stop by at any of these times.

Knowlton has WON the 2025 Food Fight against @arc.taubman!

Together, students from @knowltonosu and @umich.taubmancollege raised over 100lbs of food and 61 personal care items for our student communites. During this holiday season, this makes a lasting impact of care within our schools.
